Nominees for the 25th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were announced Feb. 4, 2021.
Nominees for the 27th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were announced Thursday, for outstanding performances in five film and eight television categories, plus stunt ensembles.
Lily Collins (“Emily in Paris,” “Mank”) and Daveed Diggs (“Snowpiercer,” “Hamilton”) announced the nominees exclusively via an Instagram Live. Jason George (“Station 19”) and Elizabeth McLaughlin (“Grand Hotel”) announced the nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles.
Typically, nominations are announced for the previous year's performances. Because of the pandemic, SAG Awards eligibility spanned Jan. 1, 2020, to Feb. 28, 2021.
In the film categories, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “Minari” lead nominations with three apiece. In the television categories, “The Crown” and “Schitt’s Creek” lead with five nominations each. “Ozark” and “Dead to Me” each received four and three nominations, respectively.

Netflix was the big winner of the morning with 13 film nominations and 17 TV nominations. HBO followed with seven TV nominations and Pop TV with five TV nominations.
A few actors received multiple nominations. Of note, Olivia Colman received three nominations, one for her supporting role in “The Father” and the other two for “The Crown” (Female Actor in a Drama and Ensemble in a Drama). Jonathan Majors received two nominations, being part of the ensembles nominated for “Da 5 Bloods” and “Love Craft Country.”
The late Chadwick Boseman picked up two posthumous individual nominations, for lead actor in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and supporting actor for “Da 5 Bloods.” (He was also nominated with his cast in both films.)
There are an impressive 23 first-time (individual) nominees.
Final voting opens Feb. 16 and closes March 30.
