The new "global live stream" format, announced Jan. 13 by the Academy, ditched its typical live audience, press conference format at its Beverly Hills headquarters. While some of the spontaneity and vocal reactions were missing, the well-polished live stream worked. Here's hoping to something even cooler in future year — we'll take a primetime special!
